Short-term vacation room or home rentals in privately owned homes have grown in popularity in the Bay Area thanks to online advertising websites like Airbnb.com. The City’s regulations predate Internet-based homesharing, and short-term vacation rentals are currently prohibited in residentially-zoned neighborhoods in Brisbane. The Brisbane City Council has asked the Planning Commission to further study this issue, evaluate the City’s regulations, and make recommendations. As a Brisbane resident, what do you think? Your input is critical in this effort. Join the dialogue by filling out a community survey online and/or attending the Planning Commission workshop on March 12, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. Hard copies of the survey are also available at the Library, the Planning and Building Department at City Hall, and on page 2 of the March STAR (landing in mailboxes next week). To ensure that everyone's voice is heard, we ask that only one response be submitted per resident. If you have any questions or comments, please contact Associate Planner Julia Capasso at (415) 508-2120 or jcapasso@ci.brisbane.ca.us.
